FAQs & Resources
The decision to move into a senior care facility can be a difficult and stressful situation. That’s why Inspira Health Group is here to help ease your mind and help make the decision as easy as possible.
Take a look at these important factors to consider when choosing care for yourself or your loved one.
It’s one of the toughest conversations to have with a loved one. That’s why our admissions staff provides free assessments and long-term care planning consultations to advise on the appropriate level of care needed, payment, and which of our facilities best suits your needs.
Direction Home, an area agency on aging, can also help, working closely with you to facilitate nursing home placement and waiver programs.
We’re here to help walk you through this process.
- First, our admissions staff reviews your care needs.
- We will then look at the best payment methods for you and what you may be eligible for through your insurance. Inspira Health Group accepts most insurances and Medicaid.
- We will provide you with a financial questionnaire to assess Medicaid eligibility, insurance coverage, or private pay. If you're Medicaid eligible, we have an application and checklist for you to complete.
- If desired, our social workers and admissions department can refer you to an estate planning attorney to help you implement a plan and ensure asset protection.
Yes! And we’re here to assist you in applying for Medicaid and its programs like PASSPORT, Home Care Waiver, and Assisted Living Waiver. We’ll help make sure your family takes advantage of the appropriate and available programs so you’re not paying more healthcare costs than you should. Plus, we’re here during a resident’s stay, and even after discharge to another level of care.
Many of our locations offer private rooms with bathrooms for our residents. Please contact the location you would like to find out availability.
We have a great selection of high-quality foods available to meet our residents’ nutritional requirements and eating habits. The meals and snacks are all carefully prepared to cater to an individual’s dietary needs and restrictions. Food-related issues are considered when serving our residents, including nutritional needs, difficulty swallowing, allergies, medication interaction, exercise levels, and more.
We are always staffed according to state guidelines. Each of our five locations is generally overstaffed or staffed far beyond the state minimum guidelines and requirements.
Yes. Depending on the facility, we offer in-house hemodialysis, ventilator care, wound care, long-term post-acute care, short-term and long-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and memory care. See more about the services we offer.

Unlike an increasing number of senior care providers owned by private equity or other non-local entities, Inspira Health Group is locally owned and operated by members of the community. What’s more, our president and partners have worked “in the trenches” as former nurses and use their familiarity to bring only the best experiences to each of our residents and their families. Our locations truly feel like home, so much so that our own employees have loved ones as residents. And we’re at the forefront of senior care, using advanced medical technologies to implement the latest in world-class care.
Unfortunately, we do not offer adult day care services at this time. However, we offer respite care services at all five of our locations for those seeking short-term care for their loved one.
Respite care provides short-term stays for your loved one, giving family caregivers a break while they receive professional care in a safe, supportive environment.
Respite care is ideal for those who need temporary support due to caregiver travel, recovery from an illness or surgery, or when families simply need time to rest and recharge.
Stays can range from just a few days to several weeks, depending on availability and individual needs.
Respite guests receive 24-hour nursing care, assistance with daily activities, meals, medication management, and access to the same amenities and services as long-term residents.
Respite care is offered in both private and semi-private rooms, based on availability and preference.
Yes. Respite guests are encouraged to participate in our full calendar of activities, including social events and group activities.
Our respite care program offers families peace of mind with short-term stays for their loved ones, supported by a dedicated team around the clock. With more hours of direct care per resident per day than the Ohio state average,* Inspira Health Group delivers attentive, personalized support that helps every individual feel safe, connected, and cared for, so you can take the time you need to care for yourself.

Ventilator Care services provide specialized, around-the-clock support for individuals who rely on mechanical ventilation to breathe. Care is delivered by a highly trained clinical team in a dedicated, medically equipped setting. While services vary by location, Ventilator Care is offered at four of our five locations: Canterbury, Carroll, Caprice, and Calcutta.
Yes. Ventilator Care programs typically support both invasive (tracheostomy) and noninvasive ventilation, based on each resident’s needs.
Yes. We have respiratory therapists on-site to manage ventilator settings, provide treatments, monitor respiratory status, and support weaning when appropriate.
Yes. All our Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are specially trained in ventilator management, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and emergency response.
Inspira has earned a reputation for exceptional success in ventilator weaning, driven by a focused approach. For appropriate candidates, ventilator weaning programs may be available and are guided by respiratory therapists and physicians.
Ventilator Care can be short-term, such as during recovery after hospitalization, or long-term for individuals who require ongoing respiratory support.
